Optometric Office Front Desk Clerk

Privately owned and growing optometric practice is seeking a highly motivated individual as a Front Desk Clerk.  Individual must be outgoing, reliable, and efficient.  Experience preferred but will train the right individual.

  • Computer use and electronic records
  • Efficient typing speed
  • Attention to Detail
  • Willing to learn new task and responsibilities
  • Adaptable to change
  • Successful at working independently and as a team
  • Knowledge with medical and vision insurance
  • Experience with scheduling
  • Experience in fast pace setting and high call volumes

 

Job Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Greeting patients as they enter and exit the practice
  • Verifying demographic information
  • Collecting and verifying proper insurance information
  • Preparing face sheets for patients who are scheduled
  • Scheduling patients and scheduling Referrals
  • Ensuring forms are completely and properly filled out by every patients at check in
  • Checking out patients
  • Collecting co-pays and co-insurances
  • Prior authorizing medications
  • Billing insurances and ordering materials
  • Basic office duties such as filing, scanning, faxing
  • Confirming appointments and ensuring each chart has all proper paperwork with it prior to patient seeing doctor.
  • Candidate will also be cross trained in other areas of the office to help assist staff when needed.
